Deep Tissue Massage involves deep massage strokes in conjunction with passive stretching to help alleviate muscle tension. Usually it does not use resistance work or many of the corrective procedures used in Remedial and Sports Massage. It may be more suited to those who want to unwind, and enjoy a deeply relaxing treatment. This type of massage can be very useful in reducing stress and anxiety, and improving sleep. Deep Tissue Massage is best used following remedial work and it is excellent for ongoing maintenance.
