Spiritual Healing is a healing modality that taps into the universal energy to attend to the health and wellbeing of people. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy whereby the practitioner becomes a conduit for the healing energy. Healing may be received through appropriate hands-on touch or by distant healing where hands are off the body or through absent healing for someone who is not present.
What can I expect in a session?
Generally people opt to lie on the therapy couch, though healing may be taken sitting in a chair. You are always clothed and made comfortable with suitable pillows, supports and blankets. You may choose to lie on your stomach or back, whichever is best for you. Your therapist will begin at the top of the table by tuning in to the healing energies and laying their hands on your shoulders, if you’ve consented to touch. Healing is then given with them working down your left side, with your feet and up your right side, concentrating on any particular area you have identified as a concern. They will finish again where they began and with hands on your shoulders. You can stop the healing at any point should you wish, or direct them further to where you feel you might most benefit from healing. The session usually lasts an hour of which 40-45 minutes of that is spiritual healing. Time within the session is given for discussion about the session.
What might I feel?
It is common for people to feel very relaxed during a healing session, or even to fall asleep! Sometimes people report feeling very far away, drifting in and out of deep relaxation and sleep, feeling warmth or tingling, sometimes specific cold spots. People can feel sensory information, see colours, experience the closeness of spirit. Each person’s experience is unique to them, but most common is people reporting the benefits of healing.
How many sessions will I need?
Some people come for one session of healing either as part of other ongoing treatments. Others come regularly as part of their self-care routine, often combining spiritual healing with other therapies, but it is entirely up to you; you’ll know what you need and we’ll work together to help meet those needs.
